GOYA is the ministry for Greek Orthodox students between grades 7 &12. The goal of this group is to form bonds of fellowship with peers, to solidify Greek Orthodox Christian beliefs in the lives of teenage students while affording them the opportunity to express their Faith. Members of GOYA participate in many activities throughout the year. They include:
Dance Group
A variety of ethnic Greek dances are taught every Thursday during the school year in our community center for children of GOYA. Many times throughout the year they compete in dance competitions and dance at various church festivals. Contact teacher Christos Tsekaris for more information.
Basketball Team
St. Demetrios is part of the Delaware Valley Greek Orthodox Basketball League. We have a rich history of success for both our boys and girls teams. Just as recently as 2006, 2008 & 2009 our Boys team won the league championship. To stay updated on league schedule and standings check out www.phillygoyaball.com
Boys team has practice every Monday night from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
Girls team has practice every Wednesday night from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

Homeless Feeding
Our GOYA members visit the Delaware County homeless shelter every 4th wednesday of the month. We prepare and serve them over 200 meals each time. If interested in helping us, please meet us at the church every 4th wednesday at 5pm to prepare the food. We leave for the shelter at 6:30pm.
Other Activities
Other GOYA activities include ski trips, oratorical festival, Sights & Sounds competition, dances, fundraisers, and christmas carol singing.
